HMS - Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) of Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
The FAS Office of Postdoctoral Affairs serves over 1,000 postdoctoral scholars across the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and all Harvard-affiliated schools, centers, and institutes in Cambridge. The Office exists to support postdoctoral scholars in working toward their career and professional development goals, to serve as a resource to campus constituents on postdoc life and work, and to build a sense of community among the postdocs it serves.


HMS/HSDM - Office for Postdoctoral Fellows
The mission of the Office for Postdoctoral Fellows is to provide a central information and consultative resource for matters pertaining to the postdoctoral experience, to enhance that experience as much as possible by implementing programs for fellows and to assist in managing the relationship of this group to the Medical School, the University and the national community.


HMS - Ombuds Office
Speaking with the Ombudsperson will increase your awareness of alternatives available to you for resolving work-related problems. Possibilities are tailored to fit your particular circumstances while taking into account any fears you may have. The office enhances your ability to deal more effectively with situations on your own. If you request more assistance, further information can be gathered on your behalf, referrals can be made to those more expert in a specific concern, or proper authorities at your school or affiliated hospital can be contacted. When appropriate, shuttle diplomacy or mediation can be employed to help find a satisfactory solution. You will choose what course of action you wish to take.

The Ombuds Office serves anyone affiliated with HMS, HSDM or HSPH as a student, fellow, faculty member or staff person who needs a safe and confidential place to talk privately and to receive impartial attention. You may also choose to discuss a matter without giving your name.


MGH - Center for Diversity and Inclusion
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI), formerly the Multicultural Affairs Office, promotes increased recruitment, retention and advancement of students, physicians and researchers underrepresented in medicine (URM)* as well as helps develop culturally-competent physicians at MGH. The CDIís goal to enhance professional workforce diversity and multicultural education for all MGH departments is essential to advancing the mission of the hospital.


MGH - Professional Staff Benefits Office
This office's charge is to develop and administer a high quality and cost effective employee benefits program specific to the interests and needs of 2000 employed Professional Staff and 1500 Residents and Fellows. Programs under active management include health and welfare benefits, pension benefits, deferred compensation plans and professional liability (malpractice) insurance.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science, "Triple A-S" (AAAS), is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association. In addition to organizing membership activities, AAAS publishes the journal Science, as well as many scientific newsletters, books and reports, and spearheads programs that raise the bar of understanding for science worldwide.

National Postdoctoral Association

The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) is a member-driven organization that provides a unique, national voice for postdoctoral scholars. The NPA is also a collaborative organization that seeks to work with all stakeholders to improve the postdoctoral experience in the United States. The mission of the NPA is to advance the U.S. research enterprise by maximizing the effectiveness of the research community and enhancing the quality of the postdoctoral experience for all participants. Today's post-docs are tomorrow's faculty. Science, Math, and Engineering Career Resources
Supported in part by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the goal of the site is help students to prepare for the changing demands of today's job market and to provide a voice for early career scientists. Although mainly geared towards graduate students, this site offers a section on postdoctoral life and a wonderful Career Guide for Scientists containing information on obtaining funding, networking, ethics, publishing, teaching, and more.
