1. Negotiation Essentials on Oct 30-
    Faculty Development Seminar: Negotiation Series
    Sponsored by the Center for Faculty Development

This interactive workshop will focus on the structure of negotiation by reviewing a systematic approach on preparing to negotiate. A case study example will be used to guide the participants through this process. This session will help you understand the barriers and strategies to successful negotiations.

    Faculty Development Seminar: Negotiation Series

Speaking up clearly and effectively is an important leadership skill. Whether leading a team, or navigating an academic career, representing yourself is critical to your success. In this interactive session, we examine common roadblocks to effective assertion and offer practical tips to help professionals speak up more effectively.

ANNOUNCEMENT
3. Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards-

The Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards for Junior Faculty Women Investigators in Research provides funding to women researchers during their child-rearing years. This funding is intended to increase opportunities for women to advance to senior positions in academic medicine. The two year award provides $50,000 per year in direct costs plus 15% for indirect costs.
