The Office for Women’s Careers (OWC) at MGH is a branch of the Center for Faculty Development (CFD) and was created to foster a gender equitable environment to assure that women faculty will be given the same opportunity as men faculty to succeed in research and clinical careers.

1. Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women–
    Sponsored by the 2018 Hedwig van Amerigen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program for     Women (ELAM)

Thanks to an OWC collaboration with the MGPO, limited funding is available to support ONE MGH faculty member who is accepted into the program.

ELAM is a faculty development program for emerging women leaders in academic medicine. ELAM offers an intensive one-year program of leadership training with extensive coaching, networking and mentoring opportunities aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women candidates for leadership in academic medicine, dentistry and public health. This program is open to experienced faculty at the HMS ranks of Associate Professor or Professor.

Candidates for ELAM will need to apply through HMS for nomination before applying directly to the ELAM program. The HMS nomination process will open in September, and the final ELAM application will be due in January 2019.

2. Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminars in 2019-
    Sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)

The Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar is a three-and-a-half-day seminar that will present a foundation for modeling leadership behavior, assist in creating individual leadership goals, and provide an opportunity to receive mentorship on career-building skills.
