Faculty Development Seminar: Communication Series

Speaking Up and Giving Feedback: Mastering Conversations Up and Down the Ladder
Sponsored by the Office for Clinical Careers

Seminar for MGH faculty with HMS academic appointments.

This interactive workshop will discuss the importance of speaking up across authority gradients, as well as giving effective receiver-focused feedback. An array of strategies and techniques will be taught and demonstrated. Using simulated cases, participants will have opportunities to practice these skills in a safe and supported environment.

The annual Academic Career Advancement Series (ACAS) helps MGH faculty better understand the process of academic advancement and promotion. Plan to come and hear how to get promoted! Each panel will feature an MGH faculty from department leadership, a recently promoted faculty colleague, and a representative from the HMS Office for Faculty Affairs.

Basics for Manuscript Writing for Clinical Researchers

The Clinical Research Programís Education Unit offers an online training for investigators, Basics of Manuscript Writing for Clinical Researchers. This training will review the pre-writing phase, the writing phase and the submission, acceptance and review phase of writing a manuscript. The objectives of this course are:
- To encourage participants to write and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed
   journals
- To facilitate the writing process
- To outline the submission, peer-review and acceptance process.
