Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)

The Association of American Medical Colleges is a nonprofit association of medical schools, teaching hospitals, and academic societies. The AAMC seeks to improve the nation's health by enhancing the effectiveness of academic medicine.

The AAMC offers a variery of workshops geared towards professional development. For example:

Harvard's Center for Workplace Development (CWD)

Professional Development and Training for Faculty and Staff given by the Workforce Development and Training staff at HMS. These programs help HMS/HSDM faculty and employees enhance their management, communications, and leadership skills.

Faculty with Harvard Medical School appointments may attend these workshops at no cost.

Harvard Macy Institute

Professional Development Programs for Academic Leaders in Health Care
The Harvard Macy Institute brings together health care professionals, educators, and leaders to discuss the critical challenges of the day and design innovative solutions that have a lasting impact on the way medicine is practiced and students are educated. Our goal is to foster transformative learning experiences that prepare the Harvard Macy scholars to lead institutional change as well as discover and harness new perspectives which may contribute to their professional growth.

The Institute delivers five Harvard-based continuing health care education programs. We also collaborate with Institute alumni to develop customized programs for institutions around the world. These programs are designed to instruct faculty educators in the health professions in methods for translating their knowledge and capabilities into organization-wide improvements and innovations.

Executive and Continuing Professional Education offers innovative courses for leaders in public health, health care, and environmental health and safety.
