This umbrella organization addresses all aspects of faculty development, as well as, specializing on the clinical faculty through the Office for Clinical Careers (OCC), the research communities through the Office for Research Career Development (ORCD) and the women faculty through the Office for Women's Careers (OWC).

1. Speaking Up & Giving Feedback: Mastering Conversations Up and Down the Ladder on Feb 28-
    Faculty Development Seminar: Communication Series
    Sponsored by the Office for Clinical Careers

A seminar for MGH faculty with HMS academic appointments.

This interactive workshop will discuss the importance of speaking up across authority gradients, as well as giving effective receiver-focused feedback. An array of strategies and techniques will be demonstrated. Using simulated cases, participants will have opportunities to practice in a supportive environment.

2. Scholarly Writing Seminar Series Parts I & II on Mar 7 and 13-
    Faculty Development Seminar: Communication Series

A seminar series for MGH faculty with HMS academic appointments.

This two-part seminar series will help clinicians improve their scholarly writing and their productivity. Participants will learn how to:
    •  Clarify interests and goals
    •  Select a target audience for writing
    •  Create an outline
    •  Avoid obsessive perfectionism

    CALL FOR ABSTRACTS! 2019 Research Fellow Poster Celebration abstracts due Mar 8-

    Sponsored by the Post Doctoral Division

The Post Doctoral Division's Research Fellow Poster Celebration will take place on May 20, 2019. The annual Poster Celebration highlights the excellent research being done by MGH research fellows. The Call for Abstracts is now open! All MGH research fellows are invited to submit their research abstracts now to present their research to the MGH community at this high-profile event. Abstracts/posters will be evaluated by a review committee, and the top presentations will receive awards and cash prizes.

Abstracts are due at 5:00 pm on Fri, Mar 8.

2. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS! 2019 Physician/Scientist and Clinician-Teacher Development
    Awards due Mar 25-

    MGH and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI)

The Office of the President, MGPO, ECOR, and CDI are pleased to announce the two awards under the 2019 CDI Faculty Development Award Program:

 • The MGH Physician/Scientist Development Award ("PSDA"): provides transitional grant
    funding which will aid the applicant (fellow or junior faculty) in becoming an independent investigator
    at MGH. Click here for details.

 • The MGH Clinician-Teacher Development Award ("CTDA"): provides funding support for a
    clinical, educational or community project to a faculty member, fellow, or graduating resident
    pursuing an academic career as a clinician, teacher, administrative or community leader at MGH.
