  Travel Awards

    - Caring for Dependents Travel Awards

      The CFD Travel Awards provide funding to help make travel to an
      academic/society meeting directly related to his/her academic
      advancement possible.

    - Graduate Student Division Travel Awards

      This award is intended to help defray registration, transportation and
      accommodation costs for PhD graduate students who are currently doing
      research at MGH while traveling to an academic/society meeting directly
      related to his/her academic advancement.

    - Post Doctoral Division Travel Awards

      This award is intended to help defray registration, transportation, and/or
      accommodation costs for post-doctoral fellows currently doing research at
      MGH who wish to attend an academic/society meeting directly related to
      his/her academic advancement.

  Mentoring Awards

    - John T. Potts, Jr., MD, Faculty Mentoring Award

      Created to honor Dr. Potts’ outstanding achievements in faculty mentoring,
      this award seeks to recognize senior faculty members (MD, PhD, or
      equivalent advanced degree) with 10 or more years of mentoring
      experience at MGH.

    - Graduate Student Division Principal Investigator Mentoring Award

      This award seeks to recognize MGH Principal Investigators who mentored
      PhD graduate student(s) in their lab, who historically have had more than
      one PhD graduate student, and who have demonstrated outstanding
      contribution in helping PhD graduate students to advance their skills and
      provide support with scholarly activities.

Funding Opportunities

  Faculty Development Funding Opportunities

    - Center for Diversity & Inclusion (CDI) Faculty Development Awards

      These awards increase opportunities for underrepresented faculty who are
      committed to diversity, inclusion and equity, to advance to senior positions
      in academic medicine and leadership.

    - Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards

      The Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards. It is intended that this transitional
      funding will increase opportunities for women to advance to senior
      positions in academic medicine.

    - ECOR Awards and Grants

      ECOR has a major internal grants program, virtually a mini-foundation,
      which annually reviews nearly 800 applications from investigators and
      fellows, and awards approximately 150 internal grants.

    - HMS Foundation Funds

      Each year, several foundations invite HMS/HSDM junior faculty members
      and postdocs to apply for their fellowships and grants, which serve as
      critical funding at the early stages of a research career. Interested
      investigators must first apply internally through the HMS Foundation Funds,
      and a committee will select the final candidates who will then
      submit applications to the foundations.

    - The Eleanor and Miles Shore Scholars in Medicine Program

      The Eleanor and Miles Shore Faculty Development Awards Program (Shore
      Program) strives to support the Faculty of Medicine at the level of instructor
      and assistant professor by administering a range of award opportunities to
      support academic activities.

  Research Fellow Funding Opportunities

    - ECOR Postdoctoral Awards

      The Tosteson & Fund for Medical Discovery (FMD) Awards are intended
      to support junior investigators (MD and PhD Research Fellows/Clinical
      Research Fellows) during a one year period at MGH who are in the training
      phase of their research.

    - HMS Foundation Funds

      Each year, several foundations invite HMS/HSDM junior faculty members

Other Awards

    - Research Fellow Poster Day Celebration

      The PDD Annual Research Fellow Poster Celebration showcases the
      research accomplishments of MGH Research Fellows.

    - Clinical Research Day

      Clinical Research Day is a chance for investigators at Massachusetts
      General Hospital to share their work with fellow investigators and members
      of the Mass General community.
